About this recipe
I got this recipe from Elder Sebastien Wery, who is a native Belgian, while I was serving my mission in France. I asked him if for a Belgium waffle recipe and this is what he gave me. These particular type of waffles in Belgium are called gallattes, not gaufres(french for waffles). Gallattes are more of a desert type food than most waffles.
125g or 1/2 cup sugar
4 eggs
125g or 1/2 cup flour
125g or 1/2 cup melted butter
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Directions:
Whisk the sugar and eggs together in a bowl. Mix in vanilla. Alternately and incrementally add and mix in the flour and melted butter. You can now either pour this mixture into your hot waffle and cook them like any other waffle or you can store in fridge for a few hours or over night to be used later. Set out to get warmish after refridgeration.
Notes: I would recommend using a waffle iron that makes thin waffles. Also, if you're out of syrup, don't worry. These sweat treats taste very good plain and could even be prefered without syrup. Serve with fruit. That sounds good.
